Yakima Heart is an initiative between the Yakima Heart Center (YHC) and Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital to more closely address cardiovascular disease in our community through education, prevention, early diagnosis, and cardiac rehabilitation.

The YHC physicians are not employed by any hospital. They provide cardiovascular consultation in their office and treat patients, 24/7, at either Yakima hospital.

Outpatient imaging, such as ultrasound and nuclear tests, and cardiac rhythm and device assessments are offered in the new Memorial Cardiovascular Imaging Center. This imaging center is located within the Yakima Heart Center and each of the labs are nationally accredited and managed by YHC physicians.

Call Out Box

A primary goal of the partnership between YHC and Memorial is to provide seamless, cost-conscious and efficient patient care, by offering closer teamwork between physicians, hospitals, patients, and all caregivers. Working together will keep patients first—a commitment of both Memorial and YHC.

Adult Health Risk Conditions in Yakima County:

- Over one fourth of adults have high blood pressure.
- Over one third of adults have high cholesterol.
- Yakima adults have higher cardiac risk factors than our state average.

Heart disease is the number one killer of Americans in the United States. More people die of sudden cardiac death in the USA than breast cancer, prostate cancer, homicides, and traffic deaths all combined. Together we can better combat this disease—starting in our own community.
